Discover Asiana Noodle Shop

Walking into Asiana Noodle Shop at Asiana Noodle Shop, located at 88 Church St, Burlington, VT 05401, United States, feels like stepping into a cozy neighborhood spot where the kitchen does the talking. I’ve eaten here more times than I can count, usually after wandering Church Street on a cold Vermont afternoon, and the comfort factor never fades. The room buzzes with a steady hum of conversation, steam rises from bowls behind the counter, and the menu boards make it clear that noodles are the star of the show.

What keeps people coming back is the consistency. The process is simple but well executed: broth simmered for hours, noodles cooked to order, and toppings added with care rather than haste. On my last visit, I watched the kitchen prep a batch of ramen, tasting the broth before service. That attention to detail lines up with what chefs often emphasize in culinary research from organizations like the James Beard Foundation, where slow, layered cooking is cited as key to depth of flavor. You can taste that philosophy in every spoonful.

The menu leans into pan-Asian comfort classics without trying to reinvent them. Bowls of ramen arrive rich and aromatic, pho is clean and balanced, and stir-fried noodle dishes hit that sweet spot between savory and satisfying. I usually order the spicy miso ramen, which delivers heat without overpowering the broth. Friends swear by the pad Thai, noting how the sauce coats each noodle instead of pooling at the bottom. Those small technical wins are what separate a decent noodle shop from a great one.

Reviews around Burlington often mention speed, and that’s another strong point. Even during peak dinner hours, orders move fast without feeling rushed. According to National Restaurant Association data, diners value both quality and efficiency almost equally, and this place manages to strike that balance. You get a hot, freshly made meal quickly, which makes it ideal for lunch breaks, casual dinners, or warming up after a winter walk by Lake Champlain.

Trust is built through reliability, and that shows here. Ingredients taste fresh, portions are generous, and prices stay reasonable for a downtown location. I’ve never experienced inconsistency from bowl to bowl, something that can plague high-traffic restaurants. While no kitchen is perfect and occasional waits can happen during festivals or busy weekends, the staff is upfront about timing and always friendly about it.

There’s also a sense of local pride woven into the experience. Burlington diners are known for thoughtful reviews, and many regulars openly recommend this spot to visitors. You’ll hear phrases like comfort food done right and reliable every time repeated in conversation, and those aren’t empty compliments. They reflect years of steady performance rather than a fleeting trend.

For anyone exploring Church Street and looking for a warm, filling meal, this noodle shop fits naturally into the rhythm of the city. It’s casual without being careless, flavorful without being flashy, and rooted in techniques that have stood the test of time. The location, the menu, and the consistently positive reviews all reinforce the same idea: this is a place that knows exactly what it does well and sticks to it.

  • Absolutely love this spot. Lunch specials are huge and so tasty!!! Curries and noodles are all fantastic. Love all of the dishes with lemongrass. Super accommodating of allergies, gluten free (I have celiac) and other kinds as well. Service was so attentive and warm. Definitely worth the trip!!!!

  • Some of the best food in Burlington! Not the best place if you’re in a hurry but it’s worth the wait! The server who has been working there a long time is also SUCH a gem and she works hard to provide excellent service. For food: I love the cargo noodles, Malaysian curry noodle, ramen, and their sushi is the best in BurlingtonPictured is the Emperor Soup with chicken instead of pork and Tom Kha Cargo Noodles with egg noddles.

  • I’m a BHS student, and this is week 4 of my Student Eateries Series Today we’re here at Asiana Noodle Shop, a cozy shop in the middle of church street. This restaurant is what I call a mosquito restaurant, a restaurant hidden and attracts bugs, but the taste of the food and the smell is insane. This is a perfect definition for this restaurant. I ordered the Beef Spicy Miso Ramen and miso soup since it was cold today. I love how you can customize the spiciness of the ramen. The spicy miso broth is perfectly hot and fresh. The highlight of the ramen is definitely the beef, it was incredibly tender! I also love the tofu and the vegetables with a pickled flavor. The dish felt incredibly homemade and warm, perfectly resembling this cozy restaurant! The miso soup was good and salty, but the broth needed to be hotter. The server was also super kind! Although it was only him as a waiter, and having to serve multiple people at once, he was still kind to all of us! That’s what a waiter should be like. Overall, this restaurant is a very cozy spot for a homemade Asian meal, which the smell and the taste is heavenly.

  • We like to have lunch there every time we visit Burlington from Montreal. Excellent and consistent food, innovative sushi, easy to mix & share, great attentive service, consider food allergies (all nuts) and help pick from the menu accordingly. Food is priced well for the quality. Can be busy but never had an issue getting a table quickly. Small (but great) crew so service can be a tad slow if full. Atmosphere is so-so, in a basement from Church street, but not going there for the view! Will return of course and recommend.

  • This place was amazing! Went here for dinner with my sister and everything was lovely. No wait when we got there and got busier as the evening went on. Small, cozy, clean restaurant. Staff were very sweet and attentive. Japanese katsu with curry was spectacular! Katsu was so thin and crispy. Was very pleasantly surprised. Hot Thai tea and fried rice were also great. Would definitely come back here!

  • Price is kind of crazy town if youre an unwealthy college student but if you literally make more then minimum wage then this place is great! Their thai curries are surprisingly good and their sushi is good considering vermont is a landlocked state. I took a risk ordering that sushi and was rewarded for my daring.

  • It’s a small dining spot with around 15 to 20 seats, seemingly located in a basement. The ambiance is moderate — not too bad, but not very fancy either. The food comes in good portions with nice presentation, though the taste isn’t exceptional. Still, it’s decent overall. I’d definitely recommend others to give it a try — it’s good and worth checking out.
